DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN PARO – TRANSFER TO THIMPHU

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a Travel Comfort representative and transferred to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan (approx. 1.5 hrs / 55 km). En route, stop at Chuzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, adorned with three distinct stupas – Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepalese. By afternoon, check into your hotel and relax. In the evening, enjoy a walk along Thimphu’s Main Street and local markets, immersing in Bhutanese urban life. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

DAY 02: THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, begin your city tour at the towering Buddha Dordenma Statue, which also houses 125,000 smaller Buddhas. Visit the King’s Memorial Chorten, a spiritual hub for locals engaged in daily prayers. After lunch, explore the Textile Museum and the Folk Heritage Museum, showcasing Bhutanese craftsmanship and rural traditions. By late afternoon, tour the iconic Tashichho Dzong, Bhutan’s political and monastic hub, with its grand courtyards and intricate architecture. Return to your hotel for overnight stay in Thimphu.

DAY 03: THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA VIA DOCHULA PASS

After breakfast, drive towards Punakha, stopping at the Dochula Pass (3,100m) for panoramic Himalayan views and the 108 memorial stupas at Druk Wangyal Chortens. Arrive in Punakha by noon and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, a riverside architectural wonder set at the confluence of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, explore Wangdue town and market before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay in Punakha.

DAY 04: PUNAKHA TO PARO

After breakfast, return to Paro. On arrival, visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong), a historic watchtower housing thangkas, textiles, weapons, and artifacts. Continue to Rinpung Dzong, admired for its fine wall paintings and wooden galleries. In the evening, take time to explore Paro town’s charming streets and markets. Overnight stay in Paro.

DAY 05: DEPARTURE FROM PARO

After breakfast, take an excursion to Chele La Pass (approx. 1 hr each way), one of Bhutan’s highest motorable passes offering magnificent mountain views and alpine meadows. If time allows, hike to Dzongdrakha Goemba, a cliffside temple complex above Bondey village. Later, you will be transferred to Paro International Airport for your onward flight, carrying beautiful memories of Bhutan’s culture and landscapes.
