Itinerary

DAY 01: DELHI → NAINITAL (300 KM / 7–8 HRS)

Begin from Delhi in the morning with pick-up from your preferred location. Drive through the plains to the Kumaon foothills with short refreshment stops. Arrive Nainital by mid-afternoon and check in. As evening light softens, wander Mall Road past cafés and curio shops, then enjoy a serene boat ride on Naini Lake, watching hill lights shimmer on the water. Wrap up with a cozy dinner at the hotel and an overnight stay, ready for the lake circuit tomorrow.

DAY 02: NAINITAL SIGHTSEEING (LOCAL + CABLE CAR)

After breakfast, head out for the lakes tour: tranquil Bhimtal, wooded Sattal, and photo-perfect Naukuchiatal—each offering gentle boating and breezy promenades. Return to town for lunch, then ride the cable car to Snow View Point for sweeping Himalayan vistas. Spend your evening along Mall Road or at the Boating Club, sampling local snacks like hot Maggi and momos. The pace stays relaxed with plenty of time for browsing woollens and souvenirs. Dinner and overnight in Nainital.

DAY 03: NAINITAL → KAUSANI (120 KM / ~5 HRS VIA ALMORA)

Check out after breakfast for a scenic ridge drive via Almora to Kausani, famed as the “Switzerland of India.” Check in and unwind amid pine-scented air and wide mountain horizons. Later, visit Gandhi Ashram (Anashakti Ashram) for its peaceful museum and terrace views. As the day fades, amble to the Sunset View Point to watch peaks—Trishul, Nanda Devi—glow amber and rose. Return for dinner; overnight in Kausani’s calm, starlit silence.

DAY 04: KAUSANI → CORBETT (140 KM / 5–6 HRS VIA RANIKHET)

After breakfast, descend through orchards and cedar slopes toward Ranikhet. Pause for Haidakhan Temple, Chaubatia Gardens (seasonal blooms, valley views), and Bhalu Dam if open. Continue to Jim Corbett National Park area; check in by late afternoon. The evening is free—choose a gentle nature walk, relax by the lawn, or enjoy a bonfire in winter. Early dinner and overnight, with safari wake-up calls arranged by the lodge.

DAY 05: CORBETT SAFARI & LEISURE

Wake before dawn for a Jeep Safari (approx. 5:30–8:30 AM) inside Jim Corbett National Park. Traverse sal forests, grasslands, and riverine belts seeking tiger, elephant, deer, gharial, and prolific birdlife. Return for breakfast and rest. Afternoon options include the Corbett Museum (Kaladhungi), riverside strolls, or a second safari (extra cost; subject to availability). Evenings at leisure to enjoy resort amenities and a hearty dinner. Overnight in Corbett.

DAY 06: CORBETT → DELHI (260 KM / 6–7 HRS) – DEPARTURE

After breakfast, check out around 9:00 AM. If time allows, take a short riverside walk or enjoy birdwatching on the lodge grounds. Begin your drive back to Delhi, stopping for tea and lunch en route. Arrive by evening and drop at your chosen point—hotel, airport, railway station, or residence—concluding a refreshing journey of lakes, peaks, and jungles.

📝 Special Notes

  • Best Time: March–June (pleasant hills); Oct–Feb (crisp, cold; great peak views); monsoon Jul–Sep (misty roads, possible delays).

  • Packing: Layered clothing, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, cap, sunglasses, compact umbrella/rain jacket, motion-sickness meds.

  • Safari Tips: Carry ID, follow guide instructions, neutral-colored clothes, no loud sounds/strong perfumes; bookings are zone- and time-specific.

  • Road Etiquette: Hill roads are winding—avoid heavy meals, keep hydration, and schedule photo/tea breaks.

FAQ

What’s the ideal time for this itinerary?

March–June offers pleasant hill weather; October–February brings crisp air and clearer Himalayan views (carry woollens). Monsoon is misty and green but roads can be slippery—allow buffer time for delays.

How difficult is the Corbett safari with kids or seniors?

Safaris use open jeeps on bumpy tracks but are generally manageable. Carry light jackets, caps, and water. Choose morning slots for better sightings; avoid strong perfumes and keep noise low to not disturb wildlife.

Are ropeway and boating included?

No. Ropeway tickets (Snow View) and boating at Nainital/Sattal/Naukuchiatal are payable directly on-site. Costs vary by season and queue lengths; arriving early helps reduce waiting time.

Can we customize hotel categories and add an extra safari?

Absolutely. Upgrade to lake-view or boutique hill properties, add a second safari in a different Corbett zone, or include an extra night in Ranikhet/Mukteshwar for slower pacing and sunrise viewpoints.
