Explore Bhutan’s capital after breakfast. Visit the majestic Buddha Dordenma, housing 125,000 smaller Buddhas, and the sacred King’s Memorial Chorten. After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m), renowned for its 108 memorial chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. Descend into the lush Punakha Valley. After hotel check-in and lunch, visit the breathtaking Punakha Dzong, set between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, explore Wangdue town and market before returning to Punakha. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Paro (4–5 hrs). On arrival, check in and then visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), showcasing thangkas, artifacts, and relics. Continue to Rinpung Dzong, famed for its wooden galleries and wall paintings. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed walk through Paro town, lined with handicraft shops and cafés. Overnight stay in Paro.
After an early breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched 900 m above the valley. The hike takes 2–3 hours each way, rewarding you with panoramic views and spiritual serenity. Return by afternoon and visit Kyichu Lhakhang and the Drukgyal Dzong ruins. Alternatively, opt for a scenic drive to Chele La Pass and the nearby cliffside Dzongdrakha Goemba. Evening free in Paro. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive back to Phuentsholing (160 km / 5 hrs). On arrival, check in and relax. In the evening, explore Phuentsholing’s colorful markets and shop for Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, or souvenirs. Dinner and overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
After breakfast, depart for Bagdogra (165 km / 5–6 hrs). Drive once more through tea estates, rivers, and forests. On arrival, transfer to the airport, railway station, or hotel for your onward journey. Your Bhutan experience concludes with memories of monasteries, Dzongs, mountain passes, and warm Bhutanese hospitality.
