4 Days / 3 Nights – FIT Tour
Begin with a comfortable pickup from your chosen point in Bagdogra/NJP and ascend along the Teesta’s emerald folds toward Darjeeling. The winding drive—lined with tea gardens, misty ridges, and hamlets—sets a gentle hill tempo. On arrival, check in and unwind with hot estate tea. By 5:00 PM, step out to Mall Road and Chowrasta: browse handicrafts, sample momos, and enjoy the colonial verandas and bandstand views. Return to your hotel for dinner and turn in early—the mountains await a sunrise wake-up call tomorrow.
Leave around 4:00 AM for Tiger Hill, where first light gilds Kanchenjunga in rose-gold hues. Return via Ghoom Monastery, Peace Memorial, and the spiral Batasia Loop for sweeping valley frames. After breakfast, continue to Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (red pandas) and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute museum. Glide on the Ropeway (weather-permitting), then visit Tenzing & Gombu Rock and the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre to watch artisans at work. Wrap up at a verdant Tea Estate, Natural History Museum, and the tranquil Japanese Peace Pagoda. Evening free on Mall Road.
Post breakfast (~8:30 AM), drive to Mirik, a pine-scented hill town famed for Sumendu Lake and picture-postcard bridges. Enjoy a shikara/rowboat ride, optional pony ride around the banks, and quiet paths shaded by cedars. Nearby orange orchards and cardamom groves add fragrance to your strolls; pause at viewpoints for tea-garden panoramas and local snacks. Return to Darjeeling by ~6:00 PM with time to relax—or take a twilight walk to café windows glowing against the ridge. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Savour a lazy breakfast (~8:00 AM), then check out and enjoy last-minute tea shopping and a final Chowrasta amble. Transfer with a prudent buffer for hill traffic/fog: Darjeeling → Bagdogra (IXB) ≈68 km / 3–4 hrs or → NJP ≈72 km / 3–4 hrs. Carry home mountain light, tea aromas, and the calm of lakes and monasteries.
