Upon arrival at Paro Airport in the morning, you will be warmly greeted by our Travel Comfort representative and transferred to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, located about 55 km away (approx. 1.5 hours). En route, around late morning, stop at Chuzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, where you will see three distinct styles of stupas – Tibetan, Nepalese, and Bhutanese. By early afternoon, check into your hotel in Thimphu and relax. In the evening, around 5:00 PM, take a leisurely walk along the main street and explore the vibrant local market before returning for an overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast at 8:30 AM, begin your day with a visit to the iconic Buddha Dordenma at Kuensel Phodrang, a massive 51.5-meter tall golden statue overlooking the valley. By mid-morning, head to the King’s Memorial Chorten, a white stupa where locals continuously walk around, spinning prayer wheels and chanting. After lunch around 1:00 PM, explore the Textile Museum and later the Folk Heritage Museum to immerse yourself in Bhutanese culture and rural traditions. In the late afternoon, around 4:00 PM, proceed to the majestic Tashichho Dzong, the seat of government and monastic body. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Thimphu.
Enjoy breakfast at 8:00 AM and check out for your drive toward Punakha. Around mid-morning, stop at Dochula Pass (3,100 m), where you can admire the spectacular 360° views of the snow-clad Himalayan range and visit the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang temple. Continue your scenic journey, reaching Punakha by early afternoon. After hotel check-in and lunch, visit the grand Punakha Dzong, beautifully situated between the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. In the evening, explore Wangdue town and its local market before returning for an overnight stay in Punakha
After breakfast at 8:30 AM, begin your drive back to Paro (approx. 4–5 hours). On arrival around midday, check into your hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, once a watchtower, now transformed into Bhutan’s National Museum with an extensive collection of thangkas, relics, and artifacts. Then walk downhill to explore the historic Rinpung Dzong, adorned with fine wall paintings and traditional wooden galleries. Spend the evening strolling around Paro town and exploring the local market before retiring for the night in Paro.
After an early breakfast around 7:30 AM, set off on a hike to the world-famous Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. The trek takes about 2–3 hours one way, so you can expect to return by mid-afternoon. Alternatively, for those who prefer a less strenuous day, you may opt to drive to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan, about an hour from Paro, offering breathtaking panoramic views. Later in the afternoon, visit Dzongdrakha Goemba, a serene cliff-side temple complex accessible by a short 30-minute walk. Spend the evening exploring Paro’s lively markets before your overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel by 9:00 AM. If time permits, enjoy some last-minute shopping or a short walk around Paro town. Later, our representative will transfer you to Paro Airport for your onward flight, leaving Bhutan with unforgettable memories of the Land of Happiness.
